Farm equipment maintenance tracking and depreciation

Tractors, implements, mowers, trucks, ATVs, generators, chainsaws — anything with hours or a service interval belongs in the Equipment tab, with a full service history and a Schedule-F-ready depreciation view.

1. Open the Equipment tabIn the left rail, go to Equipment. Three sub-tabs sit at the top: Inventory, Service Log, and Reports.
2. Add a piece of equipmentClick "+ Add equipment" and enter its make, model, and serial number, purchase and warranty info, and any scheduled maintenance interval you want tracked (e.g. every 250 hours).
3. See what maintenance is dueThe Inventory sub-tab shows a "Maintenance Due" card up top — anything coming due by hours or by date surfaces here automatically, so nothing slips through on a piece of equipment you don't look at every day.
4. Log a service eventSwitch to Service Log to see every event across your whole fleet in one place, filterable by kind: maintenance, repair, inspection, fuel, damage, or note. Log events from an individual piece of equipment's own record.
5. Check cost per hour and depreciationThe Reports sub-tab rolls everything up: "Cost per hour" for each piece of equipment based on logged service spend, and a straight-line, 7-year "Depreciation" roll-up using the Schedule F default life — a starting point for your own tax prep, not a substitute for your accountant's final depreciation schedule.
6. See what's comingThe same Reports view includes an "Upcoming spend forecast" so you can see planned maintenance costs before they hit, not just after.
